A cornerstone of the Zaleski Law Firm since 1996, Curtis L. Zaleski brings a rare combination of business acumen and courtroom tenacity to every case. Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, Curtis built a foundation in finance, earning his B.S. in Accounting from Penn State University in 1985. Before entering the legal field, he successfully owned and operated both a local restaurant and a regional insurance agency—experiences that provide him with a practical, "real-world" perspective on the financial and personal challenges his clients face.

Curtis transitioned into law with high honors, graduating Cum Laude from the Thomas Cooley Law School in 1995. His time in law school was marked by elite recognition, including:

  • The American Jurisprudence Award for Advocacy: Awarded for exceptional skill in courtroom performance.

  • The Metros Scholarship: Granted for his excellence in clinical legal studies.

 

Furthering his commitment to specialized expertise, Curtis is Certified by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) in Probate and Estate Planning, ensuring his clients receive the most current and sophisticated counsel in asset protection.

A Proven Advocate

In the courtroom, Curtis is known as an assertive defender of his clients' rights. He has secured hundreds of favorable rulings across Michigan, specializing in Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, Estate Planning, Bankruptcy Law, and Civil Litigation. His leadership in the legal community is well-established, having been elected by his peers to serve as President of the Shiawassee County Bar Association.

Community, Faith, & Family

​

Outside of the courtroom, Curtis is deeply invested in the Owosso community he calls home. Guided by a steadfast Christian worldview, he considers his faith central to both his daily life and his approach to legal practice—viewing his work as a dedicated mission to serve and protect his neighbors.

 

Curtis and his wife, Stacie, have been married for 38 years and are the proud parents of three adult children. The Zaleski household is also rounded out by his beloved dogs, who are a constant source of excitement.

In his free time, Curt loves spending time on the water. Whether he is navigating Michigan’s lakes by boat or spending a quiet morning fishing, he maintains a deep appreciation for the Great Lakes State. This connection to the local landscape and its people fuels his commitment to providing great service.
